Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook, undisputedly the #1 social media application of the 21st century. Twitter seems to be gaining momentum on Facebook. Recently a new easy to use site www.chatroulette.com is gaining ground with up to 50,000 simultaneous users and a massive viral campaign. Much has been written in the media about it in the last few weeks, including three pieces in the NY Times.
Please answer the following questions:
Part A. Will this Chat Roulette technology which has been available for many years, be the next big thing on the Internet? Do you find yourself a bit addicted to the site and why?
Part B. What other uses do you see for this real time video technology?
Part C. I am in the process of building out a speed-dating site using this
real-time video for what I think will be the killer dating application online. Users would be able to talk in real-time with potential dates. The users can chat for as long as they want to the current person or they simply click next for the next person. I will charge $19.95 a month for unlimited usage. Match.com charges $39.95/month. How do you think I would best market this new service?
Extra Credit:
You heard in class about my new business Education InDemand. How would you propose I go about marketing this in the most effective manner?
